Yes I know, another post well this is what happens when I get distracted it means you get new stuff to read! Lucky you!
On Twitter earlier today somebody asked me what eye-shadow palettes I had, and If I would review them, Yes I know I have an essay to write but my brain hurts from reading journals so for now I’ll just write this instead. (procrastination is a killer)
So here are the eye-shadow palettes I own and reviews of how I like them.
Disney Villains Designer collection eye shadow palette
This is one of my favorites when I want a bit of colour and sparkle in my life, which I will admit isn’t too often. I’m a fan of matte nude colours on my skin but because i’m super pale I can get away with bright colours too.(but not blue) I’ll also admit that my inner child took over when I saw this and then I needed it in my life.
It was a limited addition product so I’m not sure where you would be able to find it now, I will try and find a link and leave it at the end. I got this in the January sales in the Disney store, I got it for £5 instead of £18! bargain haha.
You get six ultra pigmented eye-shadows and a very pigmented black eyeliner. However the eye-shadow has a lot of fall out, but with a primer they last all day when on, just apply before foundation or use a shadow shield.
The eyeliner is great if your going for a smokey eye as it smudges easily, Do not use if you like your liner neat as it likes to smudge by its self!
I love all the colours in this palette but my favorite is the black as I use it as a multi-use product I love using is as a liner on my upper lash line when I want my eyes to sparkle as the finely milled gold glitter goes great with my blue-grey eyes.
you do get a lot of product for your money 2.5g of each shadow and 1.0g of eyeliner.
I could only find it on eBay link below.
Now I really don’t know the make of this product or where it was purchased from, It was a Christmas gift and all I can tell you is that It’s really bloody good!
You get nine eye-shadows, that are really pigmented and have great staying power with no primer needed.
I use this when I’m travelling from university to go back home as I like to travel light. I also use it when I’m out as it’s small enough for my handbag and if I ever go travelling I’m sure it would come with me too.
I use every colour in this as their all delicate colours so It’s hard to pick a Favorite.
Accessorize- Eye Wardrobe
As you can see my palette is a bit battered and yes that does mean I have had this a few years! I bought It in Superdrug a few years ago in a gift set. They used to sell it alone too but I just looked online but I don’t think they sell it any more.
Apart from the Disney palette this is the only other one I have with any sort of bright colours inside it, Yep like I said I like nude colours.
(oh gosh it’s so messy!)
Don’t be alarmed by the state mine is in, it’s taken a battering in its life time. you get 12 shadows with it and a really large mirror that get really, really dirty with time.
They are pigmented but they don’t have great staying power so I would suggest using a primer with them.
I could only find this on eBay sorry!
L’OREAL PARIS – E2 Nude Lingerie
( hey look you can see my pretty phone cover!)
This tiny little palette is a gift from the gods I swear! When I need to look all professorial and grown-up I use this to create the perfect, soft smokey eye.
They are shimmery shades but they aren’t too much and make your eyes look wider. They stay put all day with only a little fall out when applying. I hate re-doing my make up so this is good as if I have this on it usually means I’m busy and don’t have time to faffing around with my make up.
As you can see you get four shades. and on the back you get a little instruction thing on how to apply, so this is also good for beginners.
use the darkest colour so smoke out your lashes, they take the orange like shade on the outer corner and blend in ward, take the light brown across the eyelid and blend in they take the top cream colour onto the brow bone and done!
It only takes me five minutes to do so its easy too!
cheapest place to buy it is in the link below but you can get it in most boots and superdrug stores, If your outside of the UK I’m not sure but I know L’OREAL is global so it should be easy to find.
Urban Decay – Naked 2
This is the best eye-shadow you will every buy in your life time! you get 12 true to colour highly pigmented, long lasting nude shades. You get both shimmery and matte shades to perfect too all tastes.
I use this palette almost everyday and this is my second one as my first one died just before Christmas after being in my life for two years. They are a little pricey too buy but they are so worth the many and the hype behind them, AHHH! can you tell I love it?
It comes with a double ended brush which is okay but I prefer to use other brushes or my fingers to apply.
Shades and names starting from the lightest on the left:
For an everyday look just to go to Uni or for a coffee with friends I use Verve across my lid and Blackout across my lash line as liner and bit of mascara and leave it at that for eye make-up.
for a smokey eye I use Tease across the lid, Snakebite in the outer corner, busted along the lash line, and Foxy on the brow bone, I use a liquid liner and some mascara to finish.
This is the perfect dupe for the Naked 2 palette. Some people may argue it more like the Naked original palette because of the shimmer but I don’t think so.
I have already reviewed this in an older blog so I’ll let you go look at that to save me typing it all again and rambling.

Avon 8-in-1 – Water Colour
This was my first ever eye-shadow palette, and as you can tell I’ve had it years and years, I think I got it when I was around 14 and knew nothing of make-up. (haha) It’s very battered and mostly used up, but I can’t seem to let it go yet.
As the name suggests you get 8 eye shadows in this small handbag sized palette.
Yes I do still use it, I use the grey colour and the Black at the end as eyeliner and they grey for when I do a silver eye look. I don’t remember what the end colour was but I apparently loved it enough to use all of it.
The have a lovely creamy feel to them and they are pigmented, they last a good long while and with a primer all day so it’s worth the money if you can still buy it.
found it on ebay but not on the Avon website, you would need to ask a representive as all I could find was reviews sorry.
