Top 10 Products £10 or Less!

Make up can be expensive so here is a list of 10 items I use that cost less than £10.

1. NYC (New York Colour) Individual Eyes – Blue Eyes (smokey) £2.99

Picture016

For £2.99, this little palette packs a punch! It comes with four eye shadows, a primer and an illuminating gel. The eye shadows are really pigmented and blend beautifully together for a perfect smokey eye. The primer works really well which was a surprise I didn’t expect it too and the Illumining gel is really pretty.

Battle of the blush

029

Blush can be one of the hardest things to find to match your skin. Their either to dark, to light or just make you look mike a clown and that’s just not a good look.

In this post I will be looking at different blushes from high-end to drug store. We all want the high-end names in our collections and we all fall for the hype, packaging, and names and a lot of the time you are paying for quality but there are times when drugstore products are the same and there is no need to spend over the odds.

Sleek Blush by 3 – Lace (pictured above)

I love this blush palette the colours are so pigmented but I do have to be very light handed with it or I end up looking silly. I really love the middle colour it’s a perfect dupe for the Estee Lauder blush called tease which was a limited edition so If you can’t get that get this its more than half the price and you get three blushes.

I’m going to this blush palette an over all 8/10 and the middle blush gets a 9/10

Dainty Doll Cream Blush -003

This can be expensive depending on where you buy it from, if you seen previous posts then you’ll know I didn’t pay much for this but if I did pick this up somewhere like Boots it would have been around £15.  I really don’t like this as a blush I know it’s made for pale people and I’m a very pale person but you get no colour pay off as a blush the only time you do is if you use it as a contour colour, if you use at as a blush it looks muddy, so it is good just not as a blush so it’s advertised wrong.

I give this a 4/10 as it’s not really a blush.

MUA Mosque Blush-English Rose

I love this blush, I may not give it as much attention as I used too but it’s still one of my favorites. Its an almost identical match to the Dandelion Box Blush by Benefit and costs only £1.99 compared to £23.50.  It’s perfect if your ultra pale like me as a blush but if your more tanned then its a nice highlight.

I give this a 10/10

Urban Decay Naked Flushed

I was really nervous about getting this, I’m an Urban Decay Junkie in my eyes they do nothing wrong but it’s been sold out everywhere for ages so I didn’t get a chance to try it, only had reviews to go on. I read that it was universally matched to the darkest and palest skin tones but I still didn’t know £20 is a bit pricey.

But then I got it for free (which I’ll discuss in the review to come) I like it so far but haven’t had it very long. The blush shade in there is lovely but be gentle because it’s very pigmented. The bronzer isn’t orange nor shimmery so it can be used to contour even my skin and the high lighter is nice. Mixed together they are lovely on the skin but be light handed.

so far this gets a 10/10. Pigmented and Practical.

Estee Lauder -Pure Colour Gelées Blush ‘Tease’

This was the limited edition blush I was speaking about earlier in the post with the Sleek dupe. The pure colour blushes or Gelées are always the quickest to sell out because they are stunning and unique. Tease sold out in the matter of days and I hunted the whole of south wales for this and I’ve been very fortunate to receive this as a sample to review.

The lasting power of this blush is incredible and you can achieve the fresh faced look with minimum product. You can build it as much as you like but it will always let your skin tone show through.

I give this a 10/10 I’m not sure if you can still get this but I can tell you most of Wales is sold out.

My Make-Up Bag

042

A few days ago I was asked by a few people on twitter what I keep in my make-up bag. I’m currently in the process of moving back home for the summer holidays for university so a lot of my make-up as already been taken back, so my current make-up bag is fuller than it usually is as it’s for everyday while I’m still in halls. I don’t usually carry this much but for the time being I am.

I’m going to insert pictures of the products, what their called, a brief description and if I can find the price I’ll insert that too.

(my make-up bag came with my Alien perfume by Thierry Mugler it came in a gift set for Christmas)

Make Up Essentials

I don’t know about you but I have a lot of make up, and I was thinking the other day if hypothetically I ‘lost’ all of my make-up in a freak accident where I would more than likely cry an awful lot. What would I replace? So I thought I’d write a blog post telling you.  I disscussed this with a friend the other day and we thought there has to be a few rules but we only thought of one rule and it’s pretty obvious really and that is the products we would be replace can not be limited edition.

These are my picks….

Bronzer Mayhem

004

Summer time means tanned skin, that is unless your like me and remain unfortunately pale. I have to use bronzer all year around just to look alive. I’ve been using the four (well three ones a skin finish) bronzers pictured above for a while now and I’m going to give my thoughts and how well they last and how they blend.

Spring/Summer Essentials

001

So spring is here!! Here are a few cosmetic items I think are perfect for Spring/Summer! I have already reviewed a lot of these products before so I wont be going into too much detail.

Face

In warmer weather we don’t want to wear a heavy foundation and a full face of make-up, so here are a few alternatives I find perfect for the warmer weather!

Moisturizer

002

Sometimes just a moisturizer or a face cream will be enough in the warm weather. I love this one by Avon it’s from the care range and it’s called Fresh Hydration. It has an SPF of 15 so thats great for protecting your skin from the sun.  I think it’s only £2 in price so it’s budget friendly too!

BB cream

006

GOSH BB cream

BB creams are light a light weigh all in one product that’s perfect for spring/summer. Again the one I use is the GOSH BB cream and I’m the shade 01-sand.

I’ve reviewed this product before so if you want to read about it then just go to the home page and scroll until you find the GOSH cosmetics review.

Foundation

011

Chanel -Vitalumiere Aqua

If you prefer a fuller coverage in the spring/summer months then I suggest a light weight formula that isn’t going to feel heavy on your skin. I use Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua foundation if I’m going out in the evenings in the warmer months as it’s long lasting and still light. This is a water based foundation so make sure you shake it well. Like all Chanel products It smells amazing and you feel a million dollars wearing it.

Powder

007

Benefit- Hello Flawless powder

In warm weather I just like to put some moisturizer on, a little concealer and some face powder. I love Benefit’s Hello Flawless powder because  it’s a full coverage powder whist still being light weight and allowing your skin to breath. I have done a full review on this product so  if you want more information on this product check it out.

Concealer

008

Benefit- Boi-ing Concealer

I have a lot of facial scaring for various reasons so no matter what season it is I only wear a full coverage, heavy duty concealer. I love Benefit’s Boi-ing concealer as It full coverage, heavy duty but lets my skin breath. It’s a holy grail product and I suggest it to everyone.

Skin Finish

012

MAC-Mineralise skin finish – soft and gentle

This is a new product for me that I recently purchased, I see a lot of people use this as a highlight but for me because I’m really pale I use a light dusting of it all over my face to make me look alive. It gives me a healthy, natural glow to my skin and I really really love it. I think it’s perfect for warm weather because if your anything like me and don’t tan or burn (yes the sun ignores me) then you need something to look a little bit sun-kissed.

Blush

009 010

Dainty doll Cream Blush

Like I have said I million times in many of my blog posts I have really dry skin so I love cream blushes but I often find that their really heavy on my skin. I love Dainty Doll’s cream blush because not only is it for really pale skin but it’s not heavy on my skin and they come in loads of different colours and none of which are too dark for me.
Fixing Spray

013

MUA Pro -Base Fixing Spray

Using light amounts of make-up also means you have to touch it up more often, That is unless you use a fixing spray! I love this one by MUA as its only £5 and it actually works, unlike MAC’s Fix+. I only apply my make-up once and then I only need to top up my lipstick though the day and my powder if it’s really warm.

Eyes

I still use my normal eye make-up in the spring/summer so no real change there apart from eye shadow

I don’t tend to use eye-shadow in the warm months but if you do I suggest to use a eye-shadow base or primer. I use dainty doll’s eye shadow base. but any cream eye-shadow or primer will be fine.

Lips

I love using lip-balm in the warmer weathers so lip-balms with a tint are perfect.

There are my favorite lip-balm tints to use in the summer and spring.

004  009  003

Revlon Colour bust lip butter, MUA Power Pout and The body shop-born lippy in passionberry

I hope you liked this, what are your favorite spring/summer must haves? tweet me @Angiebeatdown or take a picture and instagram me @APAGETJONES

MUA Power Pout Lip Tint + Balm Review

005

So like usual I went to stake out the different make-up stores and that means I went to Superdrug! I saw this on the MUA stand and had to get it!
You may or may not know that these balm stain products are the ‘in’ things right now and they’re  all basically carbon copies of  the Clinique Chubby Sticks and they’re rather expensive. Revlon have come up with a great ‘dupe’ and that’s reasonably priced but I wanted to try this one because it was £3! that’s correct you read that right £3, but is it any good, read on.
